The Concept
Created from a real need for uncomplicated, perfectly fitted drawer organisation. COMPARTMENTO was designed to reframe how culinary tools, and household items are sorted, stored and does it with discretion and finesse.
Founded by Charlotte Riggs, her intention was for COMPARTMENTO to be both beautiful and purposeful in order to offer a thoughtful, distinct place for kitchen cutlery and utensils. Charlotte’s expertise stems from a twenty year career spanning across the fashion, beauty and interiors industries from Melbourne, New York City and Sydney; bridging publicity, creative direction and joinery design to form COMPARTMENTO.
Headquartered between Sydney and Noosa Heads, COMPARTMENTO can be found in cabinet drawers across the world.
The Framework
‘The thing that impresses me most about the birth of the Vide inlay, is that it’s an accumulation of my life, and diverse career experiences put into one. I’ve always loved beautiful things, that are of good quality but also that make sense - which, to me, means fluid, elegant and deeply considered design. After working within joinery design for many years it became obvious that something needed to be created to fill an obvious void. My ambition for COMPARTMENTO was to weave together all of those things I love most; meaningful words that urge you to feel something, bone-aching good design and, of course function, because when something works well, it is the foundational pillar for perfection.’ - Charlotte
